Craig Derbenwick has nearly 20 years of marketing and writing experience, with in-depth investment management industry expertise. As a marketing consultant, Craig serves clients in industries ranging from asset and wealth management, private equity, hedge funds, and financial technology — helping deliver top-notch thought leadership and strategic marketing communications. He has worked in senior marketing roles at UBS Asset Management, Brookfield Asset Management, Envestnet Asset Management, and Segall Bryant & Hamill, a $25 billion Chicago-based RIA. He most recently served as the senior director of content strategy for Forge Global, a marketplace for buying and selling pre-IPO company shares.
Mr. Derbenwick has consulted for both massive and niche firms, ranging from Capital Group, Invesco, AMG, Alliance Bernstein, S&P Global, New York Life Investments, and Microsoft, as well as guiding startup hedge fund and private equity managers to launch their first funds. He has also written extensively on the intersection of investing and sustainability for Advance ESG, a nonprofit with the goal of changing how corporations do business. In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Derbenwick has volunteered more than 200 hours with the Taproot Foundation, where he’s helped nonprofit organizations with branding, key messaging, writing, and other strategic projects.
Craig has a B.A. with Honors in English from Northwestern University, M.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, and a Certificate in Integrated Marketing from the University of Chicago. Craig also received the Investment Foundations Certificate from the CFA Institute.
